Overview

When we met Alejandra, one of Mara Glass’s owners, she told us about a website they had, which was no longer generating leads as it used to. When we had the chance to interact with the website, we discovered it was mostly a single-page site or a landing page on Wix site with no SEO, but they used to spend on advertising for it. That landing page had barely any content, and the media (pictures, videos) were mostly stock images from Wix. Goal: migrate to a scalable WordPress site, expand services, and prepare for Google Ads.

The Challenge

• Mara Glass didn’t own the domain they were using; the previous developer had their website and domain hosted under his personal Wix account. Communication was complicated.
• There was no minimal spend or research on SEO for their brand; once again, there was no content to guide us about what they do and how they do it.
• There was no gallery on the previous website; we couldn’t pull any pictures, and most of the pictures they had were taken with their phone.
• The biggest challenge was playing with a reduced budget; we wanted to help without underdelivering while also trying to keep it as fair as possible for both parties.

Our Approach

We decided to create a server account for them; they already had a plan on GoDaddy, and although it is not our favorite hosting, we respected their decision. When we found a small window to quickly transfer the domain to their own account, this gave them complete ownership of the website and the domain.

We had an interview with them to create accurate content for the new website. We asked about their story, experience as a local business in Utah, services, target audience, and what they have done in the past in terms of marketing and branding.

We taught them how to provide images with Google Drive. Every image was cleaned up of distracting elements that were captured, such as personal elements or construction tools.

We designed and delivered the base website in 24 hours. This was urgent because they already had the website/domain running before, so we needed the new website to be online ASAP. The design is simple, yet it includes all the elements to work as a service portfolio.

To give them more strength and authority, we pulled their reviews from Google Maps.

Their website was indexed on Google Search Console, and also registered on Analytics and Tags. This will allow them to study traffic and user behavior for advertising and SEO.

Outcome

Mara Glass now has a more comprehensive solution, a website designed to showcase services and capture leads fast with a quick call option included in the menu. The website was optimized to score above 90 on Pagespeed.dev.web, and ready to rank on Google after some more investment.
