A Florida-based shipper with presence in the Americas needed a site to attract new customers, accept online payments, and publish updates. They had a static website that needed technical assistance. It had not been updated in a couple of years, and no branding principles were applied. Their customer base and target audience needed a bilingual website solution or a multi-site. The biggest problem of having a static website is missing the opportunity of making it work like a tool, and there was no way to track packages or get instructions on the previous site.
The first step is to explore what has changed since the first website was created, so we had our regular meeting/interview with Temma Freight’s manager. Many location pages were missing, where clients could potentially see the available services per region. We don’t want to confuse them or create false expectations.
We also suggested that our client implement a tracking system inside the website, or at least track notifications handled by the server, so that they don’t have to notify clients manually or individually. Yet the priority was updating and upgrading the current content, which is something we never have problems with because we love writing!
The real time-budget challenge was working with stock pictures. The main reason is that we just can’t; it’s not authentic, so we decided to photoshop stock pictures as much as we could to remove unwanted brands, messages, elements, and also give them some connection with each other.
The website structure was a multi-site, and we used a sub-domain for the site in English, usa.temmafregith.com. We basically duplicated the theme for both of them, while carefully adapting all the metadata and technical side so that every site/language could be recognized and indexed correctly.
For content depth and SEO advantages, we also implemented a blog.
A new multisite, updated for easier onboarding for new customers, multilingual reach, and direct payment capability. At the end, their business model changed, so we decided to remove the tracking functionality from the front end.
